What is Bluestacks?
It is just a software we run on our PC, but this creates separate environment for itself i.e., to install Android apps. It takes RAM from PC RAM. Allocate good amount of RAM for better performance of Bluestacks. Here is the procedure to increase its RAM.
- Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\BlueStacks
- Run HD-Quit app.
It will terminate all the background processes related to Bluestacks. Do not proceed further without doing this.

Step by step procedure to increase bluestacks RAM:
Step 1: Open command prompt by typing “cmd” in search or press Windows+R.
Step 2: Type regedit and press Enter. This process opens the registry editor.
Step 3: Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\BlueStacks\Guests\Android
Step 4: Select Memory in the right hand side panel
Step 5: Right click on it and select Modify.
This will modify the allocated RAM to the bluestacks player.
Better RAM gives better performance.
Step 6: New window will open and you can see radio button Hexadecimal filled. Turn decimal radio button On and then give desired value in MB.
For suppose if we enter 1024, it will allocate 1024 MB. If you have 4 GB RAM, then you can give 2048 MB(2 GB) for Bluestacks.
Step 7: Click OK and then restart your PC and see the performance.
